New Adventures in 2021

While we will always love a big party the realities of Covid and its effects on the wedding industry were still very real and present in 2021. Elopements and small weddings were much more part of the norm compared to pre-pandemic days.

Elopements and Small Wedding packages have been a part of Coastal Weddings for many years and grew again in 2021. With many couples managing the unknown of what the current rules and public health orders will be, a smaller gathering relieved much of that stress.

This year brought smaller weddings and elopements with fewer people. This gave us the ability to find locations off the beaten path and away from the busy beaches everyone loves. It is such a joy to share the endless coastline and romantic forests with our couples.

In 2021 together with our partners Sunshine Coast Air and Paige Lorraine Photography, we have expanded our locations from Chatterbox Falls and Thormanby Island to include Alpine lakes in the Coastal Mountains above Sechelt. We can easily travel by boat or by air to completely remote locations where it is just you and your partner with just your elopement team and Beautiful BC as your backdrop.

Whatever size wedding you choose, whether it be a small wedding, large wedding or adventure elopement we’d love to help you! One of our favourite parts of helping you plan your Sunshine Coast wedding is ensuring your experience the natural beauty in your location. Whether it is the electric feeling of a powerful waterfall, the sound of a stream babbling by as you say your vow, the light peaking through the forest or a seal who pokes his head out of the water as you have your first dance on the shoreline.

SOME OF OUR ADVENTURES FROM 2021

• We took Amelia & Phillip to a remote lake with their best friends to get married and then they celebrated sipping champagne, eating cake and charcuterie while exploring a glacier lake.
• We picked up Jess and Oliver up in downtown Vancouver for a gorgeous flight through the mountains on our way to Chatterbox Falls.
• Our team made a secondary stand up paddleboard for amazing Marion Lake shots with Rebecca and Jared
• We adventured to Thormanby Island for a ceremony with their feet in the sand and then continued on to Chatterbox for some epic and unforgettable waterfalls.
• The Coastal Weddings and Events team travelled by boat to Nelson Island with Monique and Reese to marry them at their family cabin.
